I am honored to be one of the plastic surgeons in Nashville who patients look to for very difficult cases, especially when it comes to breast revision surgery. These cases tend to be breast augmentation and breast lift patients who went elsewhere for their initial surgery and, for whatever reason, were not satisfied with their results. For me, these cases are often the most rewarding, because I love a challenge.
Revision surgeries present challenges that don’t usually come up with my plastic surgery patients in Nashville who are undergoing breast augmentation for the first time. Scar tissue from the first surgery and anatomical changes caused by the implants are issues that require expertise not all physicians possess. In addition to the physical complications, patients are often under more emotional strain facing the prospect of additional surgery, especially after having a bad experience the first time around.
Many of the revision surgeries I perform are the result of implant complications, but you might be surprised how often women who had breast augmentation surgery are disappointed they didn’t get larger implants and choose to get a revision. That’s why good communication between surgeon and patient — which is always important — is even more crucial in breast revision cases.
